Leveraging Consumer Neuroscience in the Age of Distraction
Limited Capacity seats available

The bar has never been higher for brands. Consumers are more distracted than ever, with shrinking attention spans and greater choice in how and where they consume media.

So how can marketers know if their messages broke through the clutter? How will they know if the creative was strong enough to beat the onslaught of advertising and make an emotional and lasting connection with their consumers? Asking and telling isn’t always enough. It was hard enough in the pre-digital age. Our brains cannot consciously process everything that happens around us – let alone verbally relay it with accuracy.

To gain real insights, we need methods that do not depend on what consumers can’t provide, but rather on what they can. Non-conscious, unbiased, neurobiological based responses. Consumer neuroscience delivers insights that go deeper than asking someone a question or having them fill out a survey.

Modern challenges require modern solutions.

Super Keynote 2 – Think Like a Journalist: How to Get Press for Your Business | Sponsored by Vertical Holdings
Limited Capacity seats available

Media attention can help catapult a business, but few entrepreneurs actually know how to get it. They’re stuck at the basic questions: How do you get a reporter’s attention? How do you tell your story in a way that’s compelling? Do you need to hire a publicist? In this keynote, Entrepreneur magazine editor-in-chief Jason Feifer explains the secret: To get press, you first need to think like a journalist. He’ll explain when is the right time to seek out media attention, how to make the approach, and how to tell your story in a way that’ll hook a reporter. And he’ll also open up his own inbox, to give you a peek into the kinds of pitches he gets -- and where many entrepreneurs go wrong.

Anthrotech: The Very Familiar Future of our Relationship with Technology
You’re attached to your smartphone. But do you know why? It’s because you have a deep and personal relationship with it, a relationship that you’ve never had with another phone before. It’s a relationship that is almost human. We are in the first of several waves of the anthrotech movement, a movement that is making technology more human. Join Kit Hughes as he dreams about the future of friends, education, advertising, and the workforce in an eerily familiar anthrotech future.

KIT HUGHES, CEO, Look Listen

Kit Hughes is a typical technology entrepreneur. He dropped out of college to start a company (it failed), spent a period of time homeless (by choice), and became an overnight success (slowly).

Eventually, Kit returned to school as a two-time research fellow at the University of Georgia, leading experimental technology research projects and exploring mobile computing and connected devices. He credits his business smarts to his studies in strategy and innovation at MIT.

In his agency career, Kit has worked with a variety of B2B and B2C brands across multiple touchpoints: AnheuserBusch, BP, Char-Broil, Coca-Cola, Flextronics, GE, NCR, Philips and Steve Harvey.

He co-founded Look Listen with his collaborator in punk bands, Paul Sternberg. Under Kit’s leadership as CEO, Look Listen was recognized as one of the fastest growing privately held companies in the US by hitting #408 on the INC 500 in 2015—staying on the list three years in a row—and has been in the top 100 fastest growing companies in Atlanta three years in a row, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle Pacesetter Awards.

The New CMO: Why Product Development Experience Now Defines the Role
The role of CMO has evolved significantly thanks to rapid changes in the product development process (including more frequent launches and instant customer response to products.) As a result, it’s become increasingly important for top marketing and operations executives to have constant access to - and collaboration with - the product teams. As Chief Operating Officer of Snagajob, Jocelyn Mangan manages not only marketing and day to day company operations, but also the engineers and product developers for the company’s technology suite. With an extensive background in product management, Jocelyn will explain why it is increasingly important for top executives, specifically CMOs, to oversee and interact with their product teams. All too often, CMOs lose sight of the importance of being involved in the development of new products as a strategic way to facilitate growth and produce winning marketing strategies. Marketers have instead focused their attention on short-lived goals to drive business expansion, when building long-term collaborative strategies have the ability to bring more success. Product development processes play an integral role in shaping a company’s objectives and reach to target customers, making it essential for top executives to understand the systematic process of what it takes to bring a product to the market. The new CMO knows the value in understanding a product from conceptualization to market entry and the benefits it generates for marketing. In this session, Jocelyn will give insight into the value of collaboration between CMOs and product teams and what this new, cross-border role means for companies seeking new customers. Marketing executives will learn how to better align the product, design, marketing and engineering teams into a single org that can result in better products, happier customers, and higher sales.

After this session, you’ll be able to:
- Build and sell better products with this new cross-border role for CMOs.
- Toss out the traditional org chart and place marketing and product teams under one umbrella.
- Map teams to areas of focus, rather than disciplines.
- Improve efficiency across the company by sharing cross-functional goals that are based on outcomes, not features.
- Understand why it’s important to “picture” and “market” to your customer.

  • Moderator: Todd Johnson, VP, Emerging Technology, YuMe by RhythmOne

With nearly 3 in 4 households using Connected TV (CTV) on a daily basis, marketers must consider shifts in device preference and behavior to reach and influence connected consumers. The role of CTV - which includes internet-connected Smart TVs, streaming media devices, game consoles, and Blu-ray disc players - is fast becoming integral to digital advertising campaigns. But is CTV ultimately here to complement or cannibalize broadcast TV? In this panel, the future of TV advertising will be debated and discussed, offering insight into the ways in which traditional TV and CTV can coexist and highlighting the success of CTV campaigns to date.

Cracking the Gender Code: How to Stack the Odds in Your Favor | Sponsored by Wells Fargo
Everybody knows the tech and media industries are innovative and progressive, right? Until you know – at the top levels – they aren’t. It’s time to bridge the gap on gender equality.

According to Scientific American, decades of research by organizational scientists, psychologists, sociologists, economists and demographers show that socially diverse groups (that is, those with a diversity of race, ethnicity, gender and sexual orientation) are more innovative than homogeneous groups. It seems obvious that a group of people with diverse individual expertise would be better than a homogeneous group at solving complex, nonroutine problems. It is less obvious that social diversity should work in the same way—yet the science shows that it does.

These hard-working, passionate, pioneering women reflect on how they rose through the ranks and how we can all move, collectively, forward. The case is clear, diversity will give your company a competitive edge.

And, bottom line, brilliant women are good for the bottom line.

Super Keynote 3 | The Surprising Power of Enoughness: How Great Leaders Build Empathy
"I’m not successful enough, I'm not rich enough, I'm not doing enough…” So many of us are driven by a deeply rooted belief that we are not good enough. We achieve and achieve, and even when we successfully reach our goals, we soon learn that success and enoughness do not come hand in hand. In a #MeToo world increasingly mired in fear, it's more important than ever for leaders to say "enough is enough" and step into a place of awareness and empathy. Through her decade-long career as the #1 gymnast in America, a Wall Street analyst, serial entrepreneur, and now the Founder and CEO of SheWorx, the leading organization empowering female entrepreneurs, Lisa discusses how leaders can move from a place of scarcity into one of abundance to build truly inclusive cultures.

Super Keynote | VR, AR, & the Future of Work- Rachel Sibley, VR/AR Faculty at Singularity University
In an age of information, attention is our scarcest resource.  We are constantly bombarded with sound bytes, images, headlines, and more.  Whether numb to the cacophony or overwhelmed by it, each of us will soon find new ways to navigate the morass of data we inhabit. A fundamentally new immersive computing paradigm is emerging—and with it, new ways to learn, communicate, collaborate, and lead.

Immersive, spatial computing is poised to revolutionize business, entertainment, education, healthcare, and more. Still, the platforms that power these experiences—whether in VR or AR—have yet to coalesce around optimal user experiences and high-impact use cases remain nascent.

How do we capitalize on the potential of VR & AR?  Where do we look to understand these new technology paradigms? When should prescient leaders jump in to innovate and invest?

In this talk, I’ll share insights based on my expertise as a consultant and executive helping startups & fortune 500 companies implement VR & AR solutions; data from developers worldwide who actively build embodied VR & AR experiences; and a decade of experience as a professional dancer, choreographer, and performer.

I hope our audience will leave this talk with an understanding that immersive technology is more than glorified film and bigger than gaming. This technology upends narrative control, unleashes mosaic perspectives, and demands embodiment. Thanks to immersive technology, tiny screens that clamor for our attention give way to objects and experiences that respond to our humanity.  In VR & AR, we discover that all knowledge is contextual and interaction can be a form of art.  And when we do that, we transform not only how humans interact with information, but also how humans fundamentally understand the world.

VR Commerce is Here: The Monetization of Immersive Content
Virtual reality (VR) has emerged as the world’s most engaging new medium and a powerful tool for creating visual and emotional experiences that inspire action among audiences. Although gaming has been the primary use for VR thus far, Payscout, a leading global payments processing provider, has introduced VR Commerce, the first live frictionless payments  technology for virtual reality. This expansion of in-VR purchasing opportunities is revolutionizing the VR and payments industries, while opening up new markets to new sectors.

Cleveland Brown, CEO of Payscout, will explore the monetization of immersive content, which enables consumers to interact with media and purchase products in a 360-degree video experience. This development is a major step in the VR industry which is expected to accrue a total revenue upwards of $28.3 billion by the year 2020, surpassing hardware earnings for the first time. To remain relevant, sectors such as retail, non-profit, and travel/hospitality will need to embrace VR commerce to allow consumers to interact with their products in an emotionally immersive environment and experience.

The projected impact of this kind of commerce is immense, but how can brands leverage these powerful experiences and start monetizing immersive content? How can you or your company use VR to remain relevant? This session will explore the potential of VR Commerce, the growth of the industry, and the powerful impact frictionless payments technology will have on the future.

Super Keynote | Cosmic Technology- Tina Rodriguez, Healing Artist
In the realm of our current technological systems, the creation of such is constructed from the mind, limited to what we see and perceive in our external world. Imagine what could be created when connected to the infinite source of energy available to us in disconnecting from the external and connecting inward as well as upward into the realms of interdimensional intelligence. Call it God, Spirit, Source -- We are all connected to a greater creative force that imbues all things. When we take a moment, a breath, and can "tune in," we enter an ever expansive field of energy, the limitless information that can assist us in our day to day lives which not only helps us, physically, emotionally, mentally, but it then translates to creating resources that are not only relevant to humanity but have a long lasting positive effect to the whole of creation. Through the use of Sound-- which is the base of all creation (as they say everything is vibration, frequency, energy), immerse yourself in the infinite where all is possible in inspiration and connectivity-- to oneself and the limitless being that you are, and to the whole of the cosmos.

Drawing from her soul's experience and knowledge found in the etheric field of the Akashic Records--channeling messages from the Earth and Ocean, Angelic realm, Ascended Masters, Star and Interdimensional Beings through the use of narrative and documentary storytelling, as well as high vibrational sound (with multiple instruments and her four octave range voice), Tina’s intention is to create content that raises consciousness and awareness of the heart and soul to bring healing to the world and all beings. A practitioner for almost 15 years, Tina's expertise in the realms of integrative whole body wellness involve getting to the root of disharmony and disease in the body and mind by accessing the heart and healing wounds of the soul for both the individual and the collective. It is here that we can release any energy that no longer serves, having the opportunity to heal, integrate and bring into harmony and balance that which can serve us, so we can come to know our truest selves and be of service to others.
